Job Title: Attendance Supervisor

Department: Pathways to Success

Supervisor: Senior Program Manager of Pathways to Success

FLSA Status: Exempt Full-Time

Salary: $57,000/year

Position Summary: 

The primary purpose of the Attendance Supervisor is to:

  • Provide support to Student Advocates and Family Strengthening Coaches, and coordinate recruiting and community outreach activities for the Attendance program of Pathways to Success.
  • Offer program leadership support and supervision.
  • Work closely with the agency’s Student Advocates, both within and outside of the school building, to reduce barriers and improve attendance.
  • Ensure that evidence-based curriculum(s) are followed to ensure proper procedures and program implementation to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and evaluate the data collection process and management following Attendance program completion to monitor the program.

Program Leadership and Support (Supervisor Duties):

Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager of Pathways to Success, you will:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, evaluate, and supervise the operations of the Attendance Program.
  • Provide supervision, technical support, mentorship, and guidance when implementing program curricula to Student Advocates and Family Strengthening Coaches.
  • Visit target schools and partner locations regularly to coach and support Advocates and Coaches.
  • Ensure the accuracy and punctuality of P2S Program reporting.
  • Assist in staff and program evaluation.
  • Offer ongoing Check and Connect training to staff.
  • Ensure fidelity of the Check and Connect curriculum and other curricula used by the
    program.
  • Provide feedback to Student Advocates and Family Strengthening Coaches regarding the quality of program delivery.
  • Maintain contact with existing referral sources for programs to help maintain program capacity.
  • Identify new partnerships in the community for referral generation and to enhance program delivery.
  • Maintain our database of information, calendars, and notes on various events and activities.
  • Work with Family Strengthening Coaches to incorporate two-generation approaches into the Attendance Program.
  • Facilitate meetings and updates to school and district partners regarding attendance program changes, needs, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with community attendance, education, and juvenile justice coalitions.
  • Ensure LCM presence at pertinent events at schools and in the community.
  • Understand and articulate the program goals at various community meetings, coalitions, and groups.
  • Work with the Senior Program Manager to confirm all logistics for activities and events in a timely manner, including venues, food vendors, transportation needs, and supplies.
  • Ensure that activity budgets are communicated to the team and expenses are in line with the budget.
  • Continually assess the results of activities to improve the execution of program events and to ensure that students and parents/guardians are highly engaged.
  • Onboard new program employees with responsibilities, including but not limited to program orientation, an overview of the program model and goals, documentation, and reporting procedures.
  • Upload individual identifiable data to the LCM’s data collection system.
  • Work with the Senior Program Manager and the program team to ensure that data is accurately collected and reported as required by grant agreements.
  • Update program materials, marketing materials, and reporting forms as needed.
  • Seek out opportunities to remain current in knowledge of relevant educational research and trends in the fields of education, youth development, and parental engagement.
  • Promote all program activities at schools, with community organizations, and other partners and may be called upon to represent the program at speaking engagements with stakeholders.
  • Assess youth problems and diagnose barriers to success on an ongoing basis; assist with identifying and connecting with resources to help overcome social, emotional, and economic needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager of Pathways to Success.

Grant Support and Data Collection:

  • Uploads individual identifiable data to the LCM’s data collection system.
  • Works with the Senior Program Manager to ensure that data is accurately collected and reported as required by grant agreements.
  • Ensures accuracy and punctuality of P2S Program reporting.
  • Seeks out opportunities to remain current in knowledge of culturally based leadership programming, youth development and parental engagement.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • A Bachelor of Arts degree;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful supervisor experience
  • Three to five years (3-5) of related experience and/or training in education, in youth program development, in human service- related field working with adolescents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, receive and provide feedback;
  • Ability to facilitate positive, appropriate, and healthy connections between youth and
    adults;
  • Ability to understand and work with special needs populations and services such as the juvenile justice system and social and behavioral/mental health.
  • Professional manner that exemplifies attention to detail, confidentiality, patience, and a positive attitude toward work;
  • Data entry and proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Must process a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation

Physical Demands and Working conditions:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Minimum physical exertion. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines. Evening and weekend hours may be frequent to fulfill duties and to attend meetings/events.

All of our employees begin their careers working at the Latino Center’s office in Omaha, Nebraska. This allows for new hires to get to know our community and services, as well as develop relationships with other members of the Latino Center team.
