Cristina Castro-Matukewicz
Honorary Chair
Cristina, Philanthropy and Social Impact, Community Relations SVP at Wells Fargo, is a passionate advocate for community development, philanthropy, and DEI across Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Originally from Colombia, she came to the U.S. to further her education and has dedicated herself to amplifying the voices of women, especially women of color.
Her leadership and service have earned her honors such as Ten Outstanding Young Omahans, Forty Under 40, and the Tribute to Women Award. She also serves on the board of Spark, under their Spark Capital Loan Committee and Together Inc.
Cristina is excited to celebrate and elevate the Latino Center’s mission at Destino 2025. We are deeply grateful for her support.
Mary and Rodrigo López
Familia y Comunidad Award
Mary and Rodrigo López have dedicated their lives to uplifting the Omaha community through decades of service, leadership, and generosity. Named United Way of the Midlands’ Citizens of the Year in 2020, they’ve championed countless nonprofits and inspired others through their unwavering commitment to giving back.
Rodrigo, Chairman of AmeriSphere Companies, serves on several major boards, including Mutual of Omaha and Omaha Performing Arts. Mary, President of AmeriSphere and former Career Services Director at UNO, is a tireless advocate involved in organizations like the Munroe-Meyer Institute and Women United, and will receive the 2025 Sower Award in the Humanities.
The Latino Center of the Midlands is thrilled to recognize them with the 2025 Familia & Comunidad Award for their incredible impact and heart for our community.
Shannon and Emiliano Lerda
Orgullo Empresarial Award
Shannon and Emiliano Lerda are local entrepreneurs and co-founders of Elevator, a co-warehousing space built to support small businesses with flexible storage, logistics and support. Inspired by their own struggles running an e-commerce brand from home, they created Elevator to offer practical solutions for product-based entrepreneurs.
Originally from Argentina, Emiliano led CIRA (formerly Immigrant Legal Center) for nearly a decade and has a background in law and community development. Shannon, a northeast Iowa native and University of Northern Iowa graduate, began her career in finance before joining Emiliano in launching several businesses. Together, they’re passionate about helping others grow and succeed.

Madison Perales
2025 Destino Emcee
Madison Perales joined KETV NewsWatch 7 in March 2025, bringing with her a passion for investigative journalism and a deep commitment to uplifting underrepresented voices—especially in South Omaha.
A proud graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees by 2024, leading impactful investigations that garnered national recognition and sparked real-world change.
The Latino Center of the Midlands is thrilled to welcome Madison as the emcee for Destino 2025. With her strong connection to community, storytelling expertise, and commitment to elevating local voices, Madison is the perfect host to guide us through an evening of celebration, inspiration, and comunidad.
