Siembra Nebraska provides internships for local high school and college students in environmental and agricultural sustainability, multimedia, business, construction, public health, and more. In the five different internship programs, interns are able to develop leadership skills through on-the-job experience and mentorship opportunities.

Siembra Synergy Conference Speakers

Daniela Rojas Florez, originally from Bogotá, Colombia, moved to Omaha in 2007. She holds degrees in art, theology, and higher education administration. With a background in student support roles in higher education, she now serves as Director of Community Leadership Programs at the Greater Omaha Chamber, leading Leadership Omaha, the Alumni Association, and a new initiative for refugees and immigrants.

Enzo Jin joined FNBO’s retail division in 2016, excelling in roles that drew on his expertise in personal finance, credit, and risk. He holds a bachelor’s in economics and an MBA, along with multiple financial licenses, and is pursuing his CFP® certification. Outside of work, Enzo enjoys golfing, traveling with his wife and daughter, and giving back by teaching personal finance to youth and new immigrants.

Leia Baez is an award-winning author, speaker, and proud South Omaha native whose story of overcoming adversity went viral, reaching over 6.5 million people. A former journalist, she now inspires others to embrace vulnerability and face life’s challenges with courage. Recently featured on The Oprah Podcast, Leia’s message is clear: own your story, grow from it, and transform your life.

Leudin Dominguez earned a Civil Engineering degree with a math minor and an Architectural Engineering focus from Clarkson University in 2018. He spent four years at Kiewit, contributing to five major projects across Denver, Washington D.C., and Omaha. Driven by a passion for sustainable design, he shifted from construction to civil engineering design to help build a greener future. Leudin also supports organizations that empower underrepresented individuals in STEM. He now lives in Chicago with his dog, Stitch.

Oscar is a seasoned leader who began his career as an Army officer, training and leading soldiers—including during tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After the military, he led large-scale IT projects before joining Boys Town, where he first improved IT operations and now serves as Director of the Hotline. In this role, he focuses on enhancing service quality, streamlining technology, and growing partnerships to position the Boys Town Hotline as a leader in youth crisis management.

Shanda Ross, Director of Engagement, Outreach, and Belonging at Nebraska Medicine, has spent 25 years with the organization, rising through various roles. She leads initiatives in community health, workforce readiness, and engagement, aiming to foster dignity and respect for all. An active community leader, Shanda serves on several boards, including Pink Lotus and the Omaha Black Nurses Association, using her nursing background to champion better health outcomes through collaboration.
