Giving Tuesday: Invest in Brighter Futures in OUR Community

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity — a moment each year when communities come together to spark real, lasting change. This year, we invite you to be part of that impact right here at home by investing your time or resources in the youth of the Latino Center. Your generosity fuels education, leadership development, and paid internship opportunities. 

Most importantly, it helps spark success stories for young people in our community — stories like Cristian’s.

When Cristian Morales first connected with the Latino Center through our Pathways to Success program, he was a high school student facing academic and attendance challenges. With the steady support of his student advocate, Cristian found someone in his corner — someone who encouraged him, helped him rebuild confidence in the classroom, and guided him as he imagined what his future could look like. As he continued to grow, Cristian joined Ollin, our leadership group for young men, where he found a community that strengthened his identity, leadership skills, and gave him a sense of purpose.

Driven by that momentum, Cristian applied for and was accepted into the Siembra Nebraska Internship program. Over the next two years, he embraced every opportunity — learning new skills, gaining experience, and discovering his own potential. His commitment spoke for itself. After completing his internship with HomeWoven, Cristian was offered a full-time position — turning a possibility into a meaningful, life-changing milestone.

For Cristian, this wasn’t just a job — it was confirmation that through hard work and perseverance, his goals were achievable.
